Collectors
collectors AND COLLECTOR REAGENTS
Froth flotation is a process of selectively separating precious minerals from gangue material found in a slurry. Froth flotation is normally achieved by rendering the precious material hydrophobic. This is done by adding a collector reagent, such as POLYFLOAT™, in the slurry which will change the surface properties of the desired mineral.
Air and a chemical frother are then injected into the slurry to carefully control the formation of bubbles. The hydrophobic particles then adhere to the air bubbles and float to the surface of the flotation tank where they are skimmed off and successfully concentrated. The hydrophilic gangue material stays in the slurry and eventually will report to tailings.
Global decline in ore grades and extended mine lives have led to the need for more advanced and intricate collector blends. Quadra Chemicals partners with our mining customers to continuously improve the overall operability of their sites while striving for Greener Choice Chemistry.
We have an experienced technical support group which can help you select and formulate a custom reagent suite to maximize your recovery rates, improve your concentrate grade and increase your overall production efficiency.
Quadra Mining Reagents is exclusively aligned with world class manufacturing partners who bring the latest and most advanced froth flotation chemistry solutions to our markets. We have reimagined the relationship between customers and suppliers to create the most collaborative environment ever seen, by employing a unique think-tank approach to collector technologies and research. This means state-of-the-art and proven tools for your toughest recovery challenges.
